“My interest in herbalism grew from a combination of my experience working in pharmacy for over 10 years and my education in biology and chemistry. While I've always been fascinated by the science behind medicine, it was my botany labs that gave me a deeper appreciation for plants and sparked the realization that I could do more than just understand the botanical origins of pharmaceuticals. I could actually grow medicinal plants and put that knowledge to use.Today, I have a garden dedicated to growing beneficial plants, and I use my background in botany to identify and forage plants throughout Tuolumne County. My knowledge of chemistry gives me the confidence to take those plants and turn them into thoughtfully formulated recipes and finished products, combining my understanding of how ingredients interact with my passion for herbalism.What I love most about Mountain Meadow Apothecary is being able to turn that knowledge into something meaningful for the people around me.
